After taking this photograph, I came down from the terrace and headed toward the Gazela Bridge. Along the way, I ran into a man I had first met in 2000, at the polling station where Milošević cast his vote. Smiling, he asked me:
“Will you see this one off as well, the way you did Milošević?”
I shrugged and replied:
“I hope so.”
