Geometry and Measure

The GTC X business center is located at the corner of Milutina Milankovića Boulevard and Bulevar umetnosti in New Belgrade. It was designed by the Austrian studio Atelier Thomas Pucher, known for architecture based on clear, recognizable concepts.
In this case, the idea is quite literal — the building’s footprint is shaped like the letter “X.” This geometry extends into the façade, where a rhythm of diagonals and repeated elements transforms it into an almost abstract composition.
At first glance, everything appears as a closed system — precise, controlled, self-contained.
And then, at the very edge of that system, a girl appears.
Small in relation to the structure, yet enough to change the way we read the image. What had been pure form suddenly becomes a space where something actually happens.
The façade, made entirely of floor-to-ceiling glass, suggests complete exposure. Yet behind this transparency lies a complex system that regulates temperature, while light passes through the glass not unchanged, but filtered, softened, and reshaped.
But a question remains: what do the people who work in this building every day have to say about it? Does their experience align with the idea of a perfectly controlled space?
Within that tension — between design and reality, between geometry and life — the image finds its true meaning.
