          At the moment when the day withdraws and the night has not yet fully taken over, Kalemegdan Fortress becomes a meeting place of past and present. The fortress, which has guarded the entrance to the city for centuries, glows quietly and with dignity tonight, while in the distance the lights of modern Belgrade begin to come alive.
